Don’t Buy Land At Namave Industrial Park, It’s Free – Minister
The State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite, has tipped investors not to be duped into buying land in Namanve Industrial Park in Mukono district because it is free.
The minister also indicated that he had opened criminal cases against people who give fake titles on Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) land to Ugandans who in turn sale to investors, and yet the land is free.
“This corruption must stop. Warning to all investors, don’t buy land at Namave Industrial Park. The land there is for free,” the minister said on Tuesday while touring investors’ land with fake land titles in the south C estate in Namanve Industrial Park.
Anite reveals that 30 distinct investors lost billions of monies and had their land titles revoked as a result of purchasing UIA land and obtaining fictitious titles from various parties, despite the fact that UIA offers land to investors freely.
“We know of two individuals who have sold UIA land to investors in the wetlands. I’ve filed a police case, & we’ll do all it takes to find the rest & hold them accountable. These are the people ruining our names & jobs. We need to protect our environment & country,” she said.
