A new industrial park will be established in Kisoro district, the Executive Director of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Robert Mukiza, has said. 

Mukisa made the revelation recently while speaking as the Chief Guest at the 2023 Isangane Festival held at Mayor’s Garden in Kisoro. 

This theme for this year’s Isangane event was celebrating our Heritage, Preserving our Culture.

Kisoro district authorities recently allocated 620 acres of Kibaya land in Bunagana and Rukundo Town Councils. This is where Kisoro Industrial Park will be set up. Mukisa thanked the district for their generosity. 

“We envisage Kisoro Industrial Park will target not only the Kigezi but a regional market. We encourage investors in value addition and exploit the vast market”, he remarked.

Mukiza noted that the district leadership has an opportunity to share ideas of where best to invest.  

He urged Bafumbira to consider investing their resources in Kisoro as one way of uplifting the status of the district.
