Investment Minister Vows To Support Packaging Industry

Even though packaging is what makes a product marketable, Uganda doesn’t have enough packaging supplies, EvelynAnite, the State Minister for Investment and Privatization has revealed.Â
The Minister made the revelation Tuesday while touring Dream Pack Ltd factory in Kampala. She was in the company of the board of Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).Â
The Minister promised to ‘do every effort to ensure your success in the industry.’
Dream Pack Ltd, a local company valued at $3m, sustains over 100 direct jobs.Â
Morrison Rwakakamba, the board chairman of UIA noted that Dream Pack Ltdhas joined other factories to enhance the products’ value and is now able to provide businesses with clean packaging materials.
Lillian Nagawa, the Managing Director of Dream Pack Ltd said the visit by the minister and UIA board serves as a reaffirmation of UIA’s commitment to on-boarding domestic investors like us.
“I want to convey my appreciation to the management for the visit to observe the packaging material production processes,” Nagwa said.
