It was incorporated under the Companies Act of 2012 as a limited liability company on June 12th, 2015.
The two shareholders of UNOC are the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development (51%) and the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (49%).
Recently, UNOC assumed full responsibility for the importation of petroleum products, marking a significant shift in the nation’s energy landscape.
With this development, UNOC now holds the exclusive role of importing petroleum products, which will subsequently be distributed to oil marketing companies (OMCs).
