AfDB Commits To Continue Funding Uganda
An official from the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Dr Kevin Kariuki, has pledged that the continental development bank will continue working closely with the government of Uganda to achieve its development goals.
Dr Kariuki, the AfDB Vice-President of Power, Energy, Climate & Green Growth Complex, made the pledge in Kampala in a meeting with Matia Kasaija, Uganda Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
The finance ministry said Kasaija and Dr Kariuki discussed the performance of the AfDB portfolio in Uganda, the performance of the economy & issues causing delays in the implementation of some projects.
Kasaija then thanked AfDB for supporting Uganda, especially in the area of infrastructure development (roads & energy).
The Minister said Uganda’s economy has remained resilient & is recovering from external & domestic shocks, adding that the economy is projected to grow at 6% in FY 2023/24,6.4% in FY 2024/25 & at an average of 7% in the medium term.
