Finance Minister Tours Oil Fields
The Minister of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, Matia Kasaija, has conducted a two-day monitoring and supervision exercise of works in the oil fields of Tilenga Project in Buliisa district, Kabalega International Airport in Hoima district, and the East African Crude Oil Project (EACOP) in Kikuube district in Western Uganda.
Dr. Jane Mulemwa, the Board Chairperson of Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is leading the tour. The Executive Director of Paul Ernest Rubundo is also part of the tour. Other members from PAU include Alex Nyombi, the Director of Development and Production, and Peninah Aheebwa, the Director of National Content and Economic Monitoring.
The visit aims to provide the Minister with first-hand information on the latest developments on Uganda’s oil and gas projects as we progresses towards its goal of producing its first oil.
According to Uganda Media Centre, the Minister has expressed appreciation for the works done so far, applauding PAU for its steadfastness in addressing various key issues outlined in the Government of Uganda Oil Policy.
