Uganda Industrial Research Institute gets a new Board

Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) has received a new Board after 8 years of operating without a Board of Directors. The inauguration of the newly appointed Board under the leadership of Rtd. Gen. Ivan Koreta took place today at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperative Boardroom.
The function was presided over by the Minister of State for Industry Hon. David Bahati who cautioned the board to avoid overlapping their responsibilities with those of the management of UIRI. He tasked them to diligently provide strategic direction to the Institute.
The Chairperson Rtd. Gen. Ivan Koreta pledged to work with the members and alongside the management of UIRI to drive innovation, value addition, applied research and develop appropriate technologies in order to create a strong, effective and competitive industrial sector.
The new UIRI Board include; Rtd. Gen. Ivan Koreta – Chairperson, Ms. Jolly K. Kaguhangire – Member, Dr. Catherine Wandera – Member, Ms. Magdalene Akite – Member, Mr. Ramathan Ggoobi – Ex-Official, Dr. Joshua Mutambi – Ex-Official and Prof. Charles Kwesiga – Secretary
