UEDCL Supports BUBU-Driven Industrial Growth

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is committed to supporting Uganda’s industrial growth through the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) policy.
According to the Managing Director Paul Mwesigwa, UEDCL prioritizes the sourcing of electricity transformers, poles, and meters from the local market, focusing on meeting high quality standards.
He made the assertion during the 2025 Electricity Dialogue for Manufacturers at the UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, Kampala.
He further emphasized UEDCL’s unwavering dedication to ensuring reliable and quality power supply to the industrial sector, a key driver of Uganda’s economic progress.
By empowering local manufacturers and industries, UEDCL supports job creation and stimulates economic activity, as the Ugandans employed in these industries become part of its customer base, sustaining a cycle of shared growth and development.
