Recycling Will Create Eco-Friendly Jobs – Germany Ambassador
The Director General of Uganda Investment Authority, Robert Mukiza, joined the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft, a foreign trade group that represents German-African businesses and institutions interested in investing in Africa, for a business forum on circular economy investment.
“We are dedicated to encouraging & supporting circular economy investments that propel long-term national value creation & sustainable development. UIA supports several financially viable circular economy initiatives, such as waste management, recycling & among others,” Mukiza said.
“In the circular economy, the recycling and remanufacturing industries present a significant opportunity. Uganda has a great deal of potential to build strong recycling facilities that can turn garbage into useful resources.
The Germany Ambassador to Uganda, Matthias Schauer, highlighted the circular economy’s role in generating eco-friendly jobs for Ugandan youth & emphasized the value of recycling.
He urged collaboration between Germany & Uganda to drive technological progress & strategic investments.
