Mbale Sino- Uganda Industrial Park Factories Commissioned

President Yoweri Museveni has praised Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for leading Uganda’s industrialisation effort, noting that the facility has already generated 11000 jobs and is transforming the local economy.
The President made these remarks on Friday, 29th August, during a tour of the park, where he inaugurated newly established factories and laid foundation stones for others to start operations soon.
The four factories inaugurated are: Unisteel Investment Uganda Limited, Nice Textiles Uganda Limited, Xinlon Textile and Garment Technology Co. Ltd, and Timber Paper Industry Uganda Company Limited.

He commended Mr. Paul Zhang, the chief developer of the park, and his team for their resilience and dedication to building what he described as “a town focused on industries, not just retail.”
He pointed out that the park exemplifies the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ‘s enduring vision of wealth creation through four priority sectors: commercial agriculture, industry, services, and ICT. Of these, he highlighted industries and services as the most strategic for job creation in modern economies.
“From the very beginning, the vision of the NRM has been clear: to create wealth through four sectors: commercial agriculture, industry, services, and ICT. Among these, industries and services are the sectors that create the most jobs globally, making them vital for modernisation,” he stated.
Mr Museveni remarked that the Mbale Industrial Park produces a diverse range of goods for the local market, decreasing reliance on imports while positioning Uganda as a regional hub for manufactured products.
The Park addresses key goods requirements and demonstrates the transformative role industries play in developing sustainable economies.
The Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park forms part of a broader government initiative to attract foreign direct investment and support value addition through special economic zones.
With the creation of 11, 11,000 jobs so far, Museveni affirmed that the project reaffirms why industrialisation remains central to Uganda’s development strategy. strategy.
